Building Electrification and Decarbonization
May 9, 2018 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Prior to selected Silicon Valley Clean Energy Board of Directors meetings, special workshops are scheduled for presentation and discussion on strategic topics related to advancing the use of clean energy in our community. These workshops are open to the public.
The topic of this workshop will be building electrification, and will be presented by David Kaneda, leading green building architect and engineer:
‘Are We Ready for Building Electrification and Decarbonization?’
David’s presentation will cover the following topics –
- Evolving building energy landscape
- Key attributes and examples of ‘all electric’ buildings – residential and commercial
- Key barriers/challenges for taking building electrification to the next level
- The role of local building ordinances/standards/incentives – as a major way to ‘move the needle’ toward building electrification
- Future considerations for building electrification/decarbonization
