Permitting Fees

Main Electric Panel Replacement

Remove and replace a faulty, unsafe, or undersized electrical panel with a new panel capable of serving the home’s load. The most common panels that require replacement are Zinsco, Federal Pacific, Sylvania, and Stabloc. Your existing panel will be assessed by your Energy Advisor and/or contractor

Please note this does not increase service amps to your home (see Service Upgrade below).

Subpanel Installation

Install a subpanel with up to 2 breakers or up to 50-amps, whichever is necessary. Additional circuit may be required for installation and is not included in this price.

Smart Panel

Install a main service panel that optimizes and manages the site’s total load in real time. Depending on your project complexity, smart panels can be a cost-effective alternative to a Service Upgrade (see below) by optimizing your existing service.

Service Upgrade (Admin Fee Only)

Service upgrades are required when your existing service size cannot safely support your new equipment’s power demands. 90% of homes do not need service upgrades to fully electrify. Your Energy Advisor and contractor will scope your project based on our Panel Best Practices.

Please note that this price is only for the program’s administrative fee to coordinate with PG&E. PG&E may charge additional engineering and service upgrade fees, which are not included here and are disclosed as part of the permitting process. PG&E fees can vary from $3,000 to $20,000+ based on the project scope and can take up to 6-12+ months to complete.
